Indica Cannabis: Why I Love It

I’ve written a lot about my love of sativa cannabis strains, so this evening I want to talk about indica cannabis strains and why I love them. They hit just as hard as sativas, but in a much different way.

Indica strains have that “hey, relax” vibe. While sativa strains yank me up by my ears, indica slams on the brakes — and I like it.

It’s so damn sensual in the way it penetrates my mind with it’s calming touch and holds my body in a warm embrace.

Awesome benefits from indica strains

Cramps? Gone! Headache? Minimized! Hard time going to or staying asleep? No problem! Indica strains truly take care of all my physical needs when it comes to pain management and sleep.

How sativas feel

From a mental perspective, I can settle into my high (and myself) much smoother with an indica strain. The outside world doesn’t matter and I can be neutral and balanced. It’s freeing.

That’s what I love about indicas. Unlike sativa strains, indicas are accommodating and gentle. They allow me to become acquainted with the various strain attributes. There’s time to adjust and react to the dopamine release (and all the other science stuff I know nothing about).

As if all the stuff above isn’t good enough, I want to highlight how easy it is to be mindful after toking an indica. Instantly, I become aware that I’m the master of my own universe.

I can see the control I have and use it for the best outcome I can manage. I’m clear-headed and more calculating.

It’s also my favorite type to use when I’m learning something new or sharpening a skill. I write my best stuff when I have the tranquil indica flowing through me.

How indicas feel

Side note: I was a ball of nerves earlier. Busy, unfocused, and nervous. My mind wouldn’t settle on one thing long enough to be efficient at anything.

I started writing this around 7:50pm and now it’s 8:09. I smoked half a bowl of King Louis XIII out of my pipe and settled into my high while scrolling my FB timeline.

Once the cannabinoids did their thing, I realized I was wasting time and traded my timeline scrolling for a blog post draft.

Here’s a little about King Louis

King Louis XIII is by far my favorite indica dominant strain. It’s the perfect evening strain. Great to smoke within at the onset of happy hour and will put your lights out 3-4 hours later. I’m talking comatose sleep! Take a look at some of the attributes of this strain.

When I smoke KLXIII, I notice a tiny burst of mental energy, but my body feels weightless. I guess this is a good spot to mention how well it works, like most indica-doms, for pain management.

From cramps to headaches, this indica strain has me covered. It’s that awesome.

Even though indica decreases my physical energy, I’ve enjoyed effective yoga/meditation sessions. So, for all you Yogi’s out there, check out KLXIII and other indica-dom strains.

And how can I neglect to mention the infamous “high thoughts” so many people experience? I swear, my thoughts and opinions get deep and I notice things I wouldn’t have before. I think more purposefully.

I think this strain and others like it are great for practicing active mindfulness. I like to do brain teaser games or write a thoughtful journal passage or spend time with my daughter and have deeper conversations.

What can I say? This indica shit is oh-so good and I will definitely keep them in my stash.

Indica-dominant strains are great for yoga!

If you prefer the sativa strains, I encourage you to explore indicas, too. I think you’ll enjoy the contrast they offer. I know I do.

Til next time, friends.
